I'm saddened at the biblical illiteracy that is prevalent these days. Regardless of one's religious beliefs, the Bible is a crucial text to at least have a rudimentary knowledge of, in understanding the evolution of western laws, morality, and - as demonstrated in this article - an understanding and appreciation of the origins of common phrases.
