I’m the reverse. I see as much as possible in the cinema (I went over 120 times last year) and after film and literature, television is relegated to third place in my entertainment priorities. I often don’t watch television dramas until years hence, once I am well informed about those that are worth my time. Doctor Who is an exception which I always watch immediately.

As for your final remark about endeavour, again, I take the opposite general view. For example, I’d happily trade the whole of The Sopranos for just one reel of Goodfellas.
