In my opinion, no.
But in any relationship, communication is important. I would have made clear upfront my expectations concerning watching a film, especially one as personal to me as that one is to you. Had she not understood or been accomodating of my desire to watch the film under the proper conditions (including keeping annoying relatives in line, though I'd have waited for them to be out of the house in any case), that would have been the end of the relationship then and there.
My wife of over twenty years has always understood and indeed shares my views when it comes to uninterrupted film viewing without any distractions. She is the most considerate person I know, and in return, I try to be as considerate as I can of her.
On a sort-of related not, I'm not sure if you ever saw this piece on disastrous movie dates. :)
