As a strict separate-art-from-artist person, I am an unrepentant fan of Mel Gibson, especially in the Mad Max films, Gallipoli, The Bounty, Lethal Weapon, and a few others neglected gems like Ransom. His performance as Hamlet is also massively underrated. Plus as a director he's a great blunt instrument in films like The Passion of the Christ, Apocalypto, etc. :)
