Indeed. Any charitable giving - to organisations or individuals in need - is something my wife and I carefully plan between us. Frankly, it is no one else's business and that is one of many reasons why I despise the assumptions of "chuggers" who accuse those who don't kowtow to their bullying nonsense of being Scrooges and whatnot. But as I said, this doesn't really happen to me, although I've heard many anecdotes like those you relay here, and they give me rage.
