Indeed. There are things about my past that will never be written about directly (they might be indirectly addressed in fiction). My best friend - who is the only person alive besides my wife who knows absolutely everything about my past - has urged me to write an autobiography, but that's never going to happen.

However, what I do write about, I believe is authentic in the manner you describe in this (excellent) piece.
