It's a classic, no question. Great score by John Williams too.

I'm going to write my own piece on this film later in the year (as it's the 30th anniversary). I will never, ever forget seeing this film for the first time, in the golden summer of 1993, just after my 18th birthday. I sat on the front row of the High Wycombe THX screen, and the moment the film began, the sound was so great you could practically smell the dinosaur in that opening scene. This film has my favourite use of sound effects ever, by the way, surpassing even Star Wars in that respect (it really, really needs to be seen via a properly aligned THX sound system).

Suffice it to say, I was blown away. :)
