It's actually a very good analogy. I have no interest in sport (including football) but that doesn't mean there aren't great films about sport which consider the wider audience. That includes documentaries (such as Senna - again, I have zero interest in motor racing, but that is an absolutely superb piece of work because it is about universally relatable human themes).
