It’s also a classic example of a film that leaves room for the viewer to in effect be the last piece of the puzzle, changing the artwork by whatever they bring to it. A recent example that had as similar feel was the creepy and underrated British film The Falling — based on a real incident in the 1960s concerning a fainting epidemic in a girls school.
