It's always better. I just rewatched The Sixth Sense on a cinema rerelease. Wow. I'd forgotten how great that film is on a big screen (I saw it during the original 1999 run as well). It's an intimate story, brilliantly directed, and all of that is so much more immersive in the cinema. But I'd forgotten how great the sound design is in that film. Home cinema sound systems just cannot replicate it in the same way.
I've got an article on The Sixth Sense out next Tuesday. It's still one of my favourite films. I assume you've seen it, but if not, do NOT spoil it for yourself. Best seen with no prior knowledge whatsoever.
