It's certainly in the top ten. Possibly the top five, though as you say, probably more traumatising for parents. I wasn't bothered by it as a child, and neither were either of my children.

Incidentally, I love Guillermo Del Toro's recent stop motion version of Pinocchio. Have you seen it?
