It's perfectly valid to write from different perspectives (which you do very well). I'm sure there's a word for that... What was it again? Oh, yes... Imagination.

I've written several female protagonists in my gothic mystery novels too. Anyone who says you have no "right" is talking utter nonsense. The only thing that matters is the quality of the writing, and yours is terrific. :)
