I've been to Scotland many times. My father was born there (in Fort William), and my mother lives there presently (in Nairn, near Inverness). I also had a Great Uncle who lived on the Isle of Skye - another fantastic place, midges notwithstanding (just make sure there's a breeze and you'll be fine, as the infernal things will be grounded).
