I've got to be honest, whilst I loved The Shawshank Redemption, I didn't like much this one. I get that it is supposed to be a parable/fairy tale of sorts, but I couldn't swallow how unfailingly nice everyone is on death row - guards and prisoners alike - with the exception of that one nasty character.

Having said that, I haven't seen the film since the original release, so I am open to giving it another watch and having my mind changed. It has happened before. :)
