I've never had any regrets about rereading childhood favourites. I still enjoy the likes of Arthur Ransome's Swallows and Amazons series or Enid Blyton's Famous Five novels (especially Five Go To Smuggler's Top, which is bloody sinister in places, especially if you get an edition with the original illustrations). :)
