I've never said yes to equivalent invitations, and I never will. My past is the past for a reason. No wonder one of my favourite films is Grosse Pointe Blank. That film perfectly captures the ghastliness of these sorts of events (or at least, how I imagine them to be, considering I refuse to attend).
