I've not read the book, but 120 Days of Sodom the film is a very tough watch. And you're right about A Clockwork Orange having a "bad dream" feel to it. Kubrick's choice of lenses and use of handheld camera during the altercation with (and eventual murder of) the cat woman is a good example. Thanks for reading and commenting! :)
