I've seen plenty of films I hated that I also thought were brilliant (Hunger, Amour, Son of Saul, and Foxcatcher leap to mind, from recent years). Objectively, they are brilliantly acted, directed, and scripted, but they are films only a critic could love, so to speak.
This one however, I actually did like. I liked the sequel even more (review below, if you're interested). :)
