Jacques Tournier never wanted the demon to be seen in Night of the Demon, but the studio wanted the big reveal and overruled. Personally, I think the creature in that is so brilliant that it's hard to disagree with the studio, but I also see Tournier's point. It probably would have been scarier not seeing it at all.
