Just googled Cliff's Notes (not sure we have those in the UK). :)
Anyway, study guides, no problem. And yes, abridged versions are one thing, as they are clearly stated to be such, existing alongside the original (for example, Moby Dick without the tons of extra information on whaling). But those versions aren't created for censorial reasons. So no, I don't consider that censorship.
