Killing off the main character can be the right choice depending on the context, but James Bond is James Bond, for heaven's sake. We come to Bond films to see him be an indomitable hero. I still cannot get over what a fundamental betrayal this was, especially on the back end of the pandemic when everyone wanted escapism (admittedly, not something the filmmakers could have foreseen, but it is still a monumentally stupid decision to kill off Bond).

I think more kindly of Lea Seydoux than you, as I think she is good in other films, though perhaps not great here. :)
