Great article. Really glad you ended up with a clear moral victory here, and the offending review as removed.

Most reviews of my novels have been largely positive, which is obviously nice. However, I have had a few truly ridiculous "bad" reviews, complaining that my gothic mystery horror/thrillers were "too scary" or "too disturbing". That's like complaining a comedy is too funny.

On the other hand, I have had one or two genuinely scathing reviews, but I don't particularly mind those either as some of them had legitimate criticisms. One can't please everyone, but one always tries to improve where one can. Even the greatest and most popular writers get negative reviews, and proportionally speaking the ratio of good to bad with my work is about the same as JK Rowling or Stephen King. So I take that as an encouraging sign.

I wish you all the best with your writing endeavours by the way. :)
