My beliefs on this are tied up in my Christian faith: 1) I believe the Bible predicts climate change in a number of key prophetic verses. 2) I believe human beings have a directive from God to be good stewards of the planet (again supported by the Bible). 3) I believe we should be doing everything practical and reasonable to fulfill this directive, and at present we are failing miserably. Obviously this applies whether one is a believer or not.

To that end, how I approached the subject of climate change with my children was tied up in my faith. I absolutely loathe the apathetic attitude displayed by some of my fellow believers (particularly in America), but I still have hope, given what the Bible ultimately predicts about the millennial reign of Christ (on this planet). I believe we can correct this disastrous course, but it is going to take tremendous political will, and things may get worse before they get better.
