My biggest single criticism of the films is that I'd have lost ten minutes of the Siege of Minas Tirith if it meant getting the Eowyn/Faramir love story back into the third film. It's in the extended cut, but then so are a lot of other superfluous scenes, so on points, the cinema cut is better.
