My favourite film critic of all time is Barry Norman, who has a similarly influential historic role as a film critic here in the UK.

I completely disagree with the idea that box office is a metric of quality, for many, many reasons (Michael Bay's Transformers films being one of them). It certainly isn't what matters most to this cineaste, that's for sure. :)
