My issues with the Star Wars prequels (and I have plenty) are not with Jar-Jar Binks at all. I can’t say I ever had a massive problem with him, as his cluminess-becomes-an-asset arc is entirely in keeping with the Star Wars ethos of everyone having something to contribute to overthrow evil, etc. :)
