My thoughts on popcorn as a dyed-in-the-wool cineaste: I am indifferent. I don't eat it when watching films, but then again, I don't eat anything when watching a film. I want to concentrate on the film and don't like doing two things at once.

Popcorn use by others I generally find OK, but what I cannot bear is people rustling or unwrapping sweets at quiet, emotional points in a film.

Worse than anything snack related is talking or phone use. There's a special place in the infernal realms for people who use phones in cinemas.
