My understanding with Interstellar is that the physics are accurate to a point, but then flights of fancy take over. I don't necessarily have a problem with this is I'm more interested in dramatic excellence over scientific veracity, but as you say, it is worth saying in interviews and publicity that at least some liberties have been taken.

Interstellar is actually a big favourite of mine. I think it improves on repeat viewings. :)
