No, because as I explained in my introduction, the films selected exclusively concern military protagonists (or in one case, resistance fighters). The Pianist - brilliant though it is - belongs in a sub-category of war adjacent stories such as Rome Open City, Schindler's List, Mrs Miniver, Grave of the Fireflies, and so forth. :)
