No kidding. That "one foot on the floor" rule with kissing couples is preposterous (there's an amusing example in Double Indemnity), as is the no sharing beds even for married couples, no mixed race relationships, certain themes prohibited entirely (eg drug use), etc, etc. It's also interesting to see how many directors subverted the code and got around it in clever ways (Alfred Hitchcock and Nicholas Ray, for instance).
