Not quite true. The one place in the world you can see it occasionally is the BFI South Bank in London, but despite lots of campaigning for Warner Brothers to release the film properly, they still refuse. I've seen the full version.

I was taught by Ken Russell himself, in my final year of University in Southampton, and got to know him a bit. I watched his Monitor documentary on Elgar, Tommy, and The Devils with him (not the uncut version, I hasten to add, as Mark Kermode still hadn't uncovered the missing footage at that point). I'm just saying that for bragging points. He was an eccentric and fascinating bloke.
