Not whilst we the audience are stupid enough to be brainwashed by marketing, no. A real fix for this problem is not making sequels. I can't think of a single Disney animated film sequel that was artistically (as opposed to financially) worthwhile (Pixar's first three Toy Story films don't count, since Disney wasn't controlling the company at that point).
