Of all the absurdities in Braveheart, this is the one that most amuses me. Of course, I don't view this as history but as romantic myth (albeit romantic myth that doesn't skimp on the bloody brutality of medieval battles). But history wise, it's about as accurate as The Adventures of Robin Hood.
