Oh good grief, don't get me started. It has become most tedious to constantly say "not Twilight" whenever I mention vampire films (or novels).

Eleven years ago, I remember taking my eldest to a 30th anniversary rerelease of Raiders of the Lost Ark in 35mm (this was just before digital took over making 35mm screenings a rarity - a development I rue and mourn to this day). Before the film, a trailer for one of the Twilight films came on. My son whispered to me: "What's that?" I replied: "I'll tell you what it's not. It's not a vampire film."
