OK, some good films here, but Meteor is muddy mess. Not Connery's finest hour.
John Williams did scores for Earthquake, The Poseidon Adventure, and The Towering Inferno. He was pretty much the disaster movie go-to guy at that point.
As for favourite disaster movies... I'd say The Towering Inferno is top of my list. More recently, Greenland is a surprising good entry in the meteor(s)-about-to-hit-the-earth genre, well worth checking out.
Does BBC nuclear holocaust drama Threads count? Not that it's a "favourite". More a scarred-for-life, never-want-to-see-again, impossible-to-recover-from experience, all but guaranteed to traumatise anyone into anti-nuclear-weapons activism.
