OK, you are now officially a kindred spirit. I love all of these novels. I particularly love the terse ending of The Woman in Black (the ending is so much more chilling on the page than in the still fairly good 2012 film, which changed the ending quite a bit).
I would also recommend The Corset and The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell if you've not read those.
And at the risk of arrogance, I'd also recommend my own gothic mystery novels: Spectre of Springwell Forest, The Irresistible Summons, Phantom Audition, The Birds Began to Sing, and The Thistlewood Curse. You can find them on Amazon along with my other novels. :)
