Ouch! That's rather a broad-brushstroke swipe against the entire horror genre.

…ecame his trademark. The sets, the filming, the acting, all are handled deftly by the director. But being a horror film, it gets bogged down somewhat in tropes and limitations of the genre.

Ouch! That's rather a broad-brushstroke swipe against the entire horror genre. I love the rest of your article though, as I'm a huge Kubrick fan (though I do think 2001 is his greatest film). :)
