Paul has articulated my thoughts more eloquently than I could. I certainly love and revere my classics, but because my wife chose to be a stay at home mother for seventeen years (she has just started a part-time job), I have seen first-hand what you are describing in this article. In short, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you enjoying the kinds of books you enjoy, and doing whatever it takes to stay sane in what is undoubtedly an incredible intense time of life is nothing to be remotely ashamed of. Good for you.
Also, you're a bloody good writer, if I haven't said that already (I get the feeling I have). :)
