Thank you. Per my article, I think the ending is flawed in the original, as it omits the tidal wave (which is pretty important) but the extended version has other superfluous scenes I'd have cut. I'd like to recut my own version!
Still, please don't misunderstand me re: box office. It absolutely isn't a metric of a films quality, and I certainly didn't intend that to come across in this article. My full thoughts on the matter are here, if you're interested. :)
