Perhaps you are right. But who knows what could happen?

I remember the fall of the Berlin Wall. A bloodless revolution overnight (most revolutions are horrible, but this was a rare exception). My sister-in-law lived in East Germany with her family at the time (my younger brother's wife). She has a lot of fascinating stories, including the fact that she and her family were under constant surveillance (they later discovered transcripts of years worth of their private conversations). This was mainly because they were Christians who were considered subversives because they were involved in a prayer movement that to this day I believe played a huge part in bringing down the Berlin Wall peacefully. Just days before that happened, they all took to the streets on a prayer march, a bit like Joshua when he and the Israelites marched around the walls of Jericho (they all felt God told them to do this). They could have all been arrested and imprisoned, but they did it anyway. Brave souls. My sister-in-law and her family have a lot of stories about East Germany (they say The Lives of Others is completely accurate).

One of my ongoing prayers at the moment is for the end of those wretched Ayatollahs in Iran and the misery they inflict on the Iranian people (especially the women). I recently saw footage of Iranian exiles waving the traditional Iranian flag (with the lion) as well as Israeli flags. I was moved to tears by this powerful statement of defiance against the Iranian regime. But that's a big subject for another time.
