Re: Master and Commander, at the time, despite decent critical acclaim and decent box office, I think it got lost amid the fever around the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Any other year, and I reckon it would have won a load of Oscars. (I don't begrudge Peter Jackson his win, but I wish Weir could have released this one in a different year.)
