Regarding the academia thing, I take your point to a degree, but here in the UK again culturally things are different. It's a bit of a head-scratcher for me. Still, I respect that I am not in that world (or haven't been since the mid 1990s), and you are. I'm still not sure I agree with some of the more absurd trigger warnings I've read about (for texts like Pride & Prejudice, for instance) but if we all agreed, I suppose the world would be a boring place. :)
