Regarding the "treated like a queen" thing... Whilst there are selfish narcissist types of the kind you describe, it doesn't take a huge amount of common sense to avoid them. And as Alison says, there are blokes who are equally ridiculous in the way they treat women.

Because I had so many red lines of my own when it came to looking for a wife, I was insanely picky. Not sure what I bring to the table, but I'd say I definitely got the better side of the deal. My wife (of 22 years) is simply sublime.
