Reuben, being completely serious for a moment: One distressing thing about this horrible business has been discovering people I previously believed were thoroughly decent to be, at best, ignorant useful idiots, at worse, the antisemitic arseholes you describe here. The gross polarisations, oversimplifications, and ignorance - much of it amplified by the truly loathsome modern day demon that is social media - have pissed me off like nothing else in recent history (for example, the idea that I must be a pro-Netanyahu right wing loony or anti-Palestinian/anti-two state solution by believing Hamas are a murderous, vile death cult controlled by Iranian puppet masters, who ultimately don't give a damn about the wellbeing of the Palestinians at all).
It has made me feel lonely and hated, even though I'm not actually living in Israel (though I do have many friends there, some of whom have been at the sharp end of the horrors of 7th October). I'm sure you understand this too, so thank you for saying it. Whenever I see a piece like this, I feel that bit less as though the world hates me.
