Sad but true. It's a sublimely acted, written, and directed masterpiece that is willfully misunderstood by the professionally offended who are unable to understand the difference between depicting something and endorsing something (Kevin Spacey's character's lust for his daughter's friend is emphatically not condoned, and in the end, he pulls back from it in a moment of clarity).
