School shootings are now a non-issue here in the UK, as we have very strict gun controls (they were massively tightened after the notorious 1996 Dunblane massacre). So no, we don't need Liam Neeson's action movie characters in the classroom here at least.

As for the US, no one expects gun culture to change overnight, but damn... Things like proper background checks and banning assault weapons for the general public are just basic common sense, and I can't understand why anyone would oppose that.
