Se7en is a superb film that I saw twice during the original run. It's a genuinely great thriller that veers into horror territory at the end. Very visually influential too. All in all, one of Fincher's best. However, I don't think it caused any controversy, from memory. Or perhaps it did in the US and not in the UK? I could be misremembering.
