After my first viewing (at the cinema), I went for a stiff whisky afterwards. Se7en remains exceptionally strong stuff, but because it is so visually stunning and beautifully directed, with deep humanity in Morgan Freeman's world-weary performance, I still enjoy a bracing revisit now and then.
