Since fiction is my first love, I wish I could clap this a million times. Please, for the love of all that is holy, stay away from Simily if you don't write fiction (or poetry, or creative non-fiction, or variants thereof).

I've been on Medium for just over a year, and most of the time I've been dismayed at how poorly my fiction pieces here have performed, compared with my other pieces. I've never understood why fiction is so disregarded here. I really hope Simily can provide a good alternative, but it will only work if it can be kept clear of hustle-porn, earnings bragging, eye-rolling pseudo-activism, professionally offended drivel, or other insufferably ill-informed claptrap.

One other concern I have (which I've contacted them about to flag) is people copying and pasting out of copyright stories - such as Sherlock Holmes shorts - to make money. To my mind, that is cheating and ought to be prohibited, unless you are doing something creative with the original text (akin to the Pride & Prejudice & Zombies thing).

Anyway, I'm on Simily, and like you paid the subscription because I want to support it and make it a success. So far I have published my seven part novella Bloodmire on there (which is also on Medium) and I intend to gradually add other pieces. I wish you all the very best there. :)
