Sobering, thoughtful, and with the best interests of both sides at heart. My own view on all this (as a Jewish person who also happens to be Christian) is God is both pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian. God blessed both Isaac and Ishmael. I believe one day God will put a stop to this madness, but in the meantime, I do rather despair of it all. A two-state solution is the sane answer, but as you say, extremists (egged on by dark spiritual forces, I believe) scupper that at every turn, plunging everyone else into misery.
